Breathe. Smile. Slow Down.

It’s easy to lose control or to appear that we don’t have a grip on things but no matter the situation there are 3 simple steps that can put you back in control.
These 3 steps are simple yet many of us all too often forget to put them into action. We rush through our days throwing out as many darts as possible hoping one lands on our desired target, but this method rarely if ever works.
First breathe. Now you may be saying “I do breathe, if I didn’t I would be dead.” And while your completely right we all need to breathe. Meaning we need to take time out, think deeply and let our thoughts be allowed to sync with our breathing. Once we are aware that we are indeed breathing, our thoughts and actions will become clearer and the end result will be a much better one.
Secondly smile. Way too often we are so focused on completely a task we forget to smile. The people we work with, those we speak to via phone or email often times can sense we are not smiling. Think how many times something you were working on or thought you had all down packed didn’t turn out the way you imagined it would. Next time try smiling and keep a upbeat personality and see how it turns out.
Finally slow down. Take a mini vacation, spend time with friends and or family. Listen to some music. Whether it is 20 minutes a day or one day out of the week, once we put aside whatever it is we’ve been slaving over and take time out to enjoy life not only will you find that you now have clearer thoughts, but you’ll also notice a great amount of inspiration pouring in.
Once these 3 simple steps are put into practice in our daily routine, not only will we become calmer but those around us will be confident in our abilities. To them we are in control of who we are and what we are doing.
What are some ways in which any of the above items have been useful to you?
