Staying Focused In a Noisy Environment
Posted on 03. Nov, 2009 by David Y in General
Chaos and mayhem just so happens to rear it’s ugly head whenever we try to focus on a given task. Disturbances range from the noisy co-worker, someones cell phone, the office radio with the annoying music, the noisy co-workers down the hall and the list can go on and on.
So how does one solve such a problem you ask…well use at your discretion any of the following solutions.
- Earplugs – These bad boys aren’t just for preventing water from getting in your ear or getting some sleep beside someone who snores, there also good for blocking out unwanted noises and allowing yourself to get down into concentrating.
- Headphones with your own music – My personal favorite that work like a charm. Just open hit play on your Ipod, Zune or open up the music folder on your PC and just relax.
- Bring a hammer – Now this I don’t recommend but if things get that to reach that level of annoying you can always go around and smash the cellphone or the radio that just won’t quit. Or you can calmly ask the perpetrator to put the device on silent.
- Get a taser – That’s right.. a taser. User it with glee and pure joy each and every time that annoying co-worker of yours is yapping away without thinking of others.. or use it to single out the most annoying one in the group of noise makers to show the rest a lesson… but seriously.. don’t. You can go to jail for this..
- Request a different desk/cubicle to work in – Just pray that this works..
What are some ways that you keep a level head with noise all around you?
