Books Books and more Books

After four years of not being able to go to a local library(mostly due to not really knowing where it was, or having time) I finally made it to one. And here is a quick synopsis of my experience.

Registering for a library card went pretty smoothly, for those who have never done so basically you provide proof of residence in the city, fill out a simple little form, sign the back of your card and voila, registration process over.

Overall the atmosphere is pretty chill, with the occasional baby crying, and parents who need to teach there kids that being in a library means that you should be quite.

The decor and setup is very up to date, with lots of room for you to sit and relax with a good book. Wifi is also available so you use your laptop(not all libraries will have these). If you don’t have a laptop or netbook you can still enjoy the use of a PC, as there are many for you to use.

The selection of books is quite substantial, what is the most shocking is that many people still do enjoy reading a good book.

The staff at the particular library location I’m writing this from were very nice, warm, helpful and welcoming. Traits such as these should be everywhere. We certainly can use more nice people in the world today.

One thing to note is on each table there is a little placeholder that says cellphone free zone.

Lighting is very adequate but one thing I’m not sure of is why are libraries always so cold. Aside from the fact that its as cold as a funeral home..the overall experience was a pleasant one.

And I must say it can be very relaxing and if your ever needing a place to escape and have a mini vacation, then the library is the place for you to be.
